Spectrum Training
Our training workshops teach employees how to perform tasks in the Financials System, Panther Mart. Some of these tasks include procuring goods and services, processing travel and consultant payments, paying invoices, journal entry processing, and inquiring on budgets and transaction statuses. Our primary goals for training are:
1) to train new employees who will use these systems;
2) to train existing employees who would like a refresher course; and
3) to train existing employees who transfer to a new position who will use these systems.
Instructor-led training is generally held on a bi-monthly basis. When new systems are initially being implemented, we offer classes with more frequency.
Our Open Classroom Support Labs assist new employees who have not yet attended instructor-led training and need help with specific job tasks. This lab is also offered to existing employees who need a refresher on a specific related job task. Employees are encouraged to bring their work with them to lab. This workshop provides training on the basic navigation of the PeopleSoft Financials and PantherMart tools and basic concepts of Financials operations.
Financial Reports and Inquiries Training
Monday, October 14, 2024 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
This workshop provides training on the various reports that are available to users and tell what the reports are used for i.e. expenditure review. The workshop covers how to find financial information quickly, view detailed information using drill down features for purchase orders, vouchers, payments, journals and your budget. Participants will also learn how to run reports, print reports and monitor their budgets.
Tuesday, October 15, 2024 9:00 am - noon
Some knowledge of basic accounting principles is helpful prior to taking this class. This workshop provides training on the general ledger module. A journal is the vehicle used to correct/adjust previously recorded transactions, process interdepartmental invoices, transfer expenditures, record departmental sales & service revenues, agency expenses and continuing education revenue and expenses. Participants will be taught how to create, modify, delete, print, and approve a journal, inquire on a journal and troubleshoot errors.
PantherMart Requestor Training
Wednesday, October 16, 2024 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
This workshop provides training for those people who will be procuring goods and services, equipment purchases and consultant agreements. This workshop will cover shopping using catalog, non-catalog and punch-out catalog; assigning carts; reviewing carts and assigning accounting and workflow information; submitting the purchase requisition into workflow, approving transactions and receipting goods.
Payment Request Form/Travel Authorization Training
Thursday, October 17th, 2024 9:00 am - noon
This workshop provides training for those people who will be requesting payments for less than $5,000 and generally these transactions include processing invoices, reimbursements, payments to independent contractors/consultants, food purchases, non-employee travel reimbursements, relocation and moving expenses, scholarships/fellowships and stipends. This workshop provides training for those people who process travel for their departments and/or units.

In order for a new user to get access to Spectrum+ System you have to fill out the Spectrum+ User Access Request Form.
This form has to be signed by a FINAC Member responsible for your College/VP Area. The list of current FINAC members can be found on the Spectrum website.
Please send completed form to Spectrum Office, P.O. Box 4030 or scan and email to [email protected]. The employee will be notified in 2-3 business days by phone or email of the completion of their security setup.
You can access the PeopleSoft Financials Spectrum+ sign in page using the following URL:
Type in your User ID (all caps), for password please use your CampusID password.

Please make sure that you update your browser settings as described in documents named "Disabling Pop-up Blockers" and "Updating your Trusted Sites".
The following browsers are supported by PeopleSoft and GSU:
- Windows Operating Systems - Internet Explorer 10 and Internet Explorer 11 and most versions of Chrome and Firefox;
Follow the instructions in the document "Updating Your Trusted Sites" to include all *.gsu.eduwebsites.
Follow the instructions in the document "Disabling Pop-Ups" to turn off the Pop-Up Blocker feature in the browser.
In case of an error "Page data is inconsistent with database. When trying to save your page data, the system that the information currently in the database did not match what was expected." - please do the following:
- note the changes you have made, then cancel the page, reload the page and then try again;
- if that didn't help - log out of the system, clear your browser cache, close all browser windows, start the browser, log into the system and try again.
To clear your browser cache:
1. On the Internet Explorer Menu, click Tools > Internet Options
2. On the General tab, in the browsing history section, click the Delete button
3. Click the checkbox "Temporary Internet Files and website files"
4. Click Delete, then click OK. This will delete all the files that are currently stored in your cache.
When getting a message:
"Budget Checking Errors Exist. - Budget checking errors were logged for this document. Please check the budget exception page to view them." or
"Current document has failed budget check." or
"There are 2 distribution lines whose budget status is either error or warning."
Please check the document Budget Status.
If Budget Status: Error (for Vouchers) or Exceptions (for PO's) please click on the hyperlink to go to budget exception page.

GSUFS ORG Exceeds Budget Tolerance
GSUFS PROJ_GRT Budget Date out of Bounds
If the exception is "No Budget Exists" or "Exceeds Budget Tolerance" please check if you are using correct Speedchart/Account for all the lines. If the problem persists please work with your Business manager to resolve the issue why there is no money available for that particular Budget line.
If you are using a project budget and exception is "Budget Date out of Bounds" please verify that you are using correct Speedchart/Account/Dates for all the lines. If the problem is not resolved please contact Research Financial Services.
When getting a message "Budget Checking Warnings Exist. - Budget checking warnings were logged for this document. Please check the budget exception page to view them."
